Favorite Lunch & Snack Gear For Kids

I get asked all the time what products I use for packing lunches or snacks for my son so I wanted to share some of my favorites. In my experience, when it comes to lunches and snacks, how it looks and how it’s packaged has everything to do with how much will be eaten.

This food packing gear will help keep everything fun and easy. Your kids will love how cute and customizable they are. They’ll also have fun getting to choose what healthy food they want to put in their lunch box each day. It’s time to throw out (not literally) those Ziploc bags you’ve been using and jump onto the reusable lunch gear train! I promise you won’t regret it.

Yumbox

This is my absolute favorite lunchbox! Bento boxes are great for younger kids. They’re easy for them to open and it’s easier to create a visually pleasing meal with a bento-style box than with a jumble of small containers and baggies. It’s also a great way to continue to enforce what a balanced meal should look like.

Other pluses, bentos cut down on plastic waste and things to wash. They keep foods organized, separate, and un-smashed.

Utensil Set

Shaped for easy packing in lunch totes and coolers. They are stainless steel and have their own silicone carrying case for added protection.

Yogurt-on-the-Go

Its double-walled container keeps yogurt fresh, while a separate section stores nuts, granola and other toppings. It has a secure silicone seal and a clip-on spoon. Best of all, it’s designed to fit lunch coolers, totes – even car cup holders.

Condiments-on-the-Go

These travel containers have an airtight seal and are compact enough for lunch totes and coolers.

Snack-on-the-Go

This divided travel carrier is great for carrots, pretzels and other snacks, while a separate section keeps hummus and dips fresh and flavorful. Contents are secure thanks to a drip-resistant silicone seal and they fit perfectly in lunch totes.

3 Sprouts Lion Insulated Food Jar

This adorable, kid-friendly stainless steel food jar has a wide-mouth top making it easy to fill. It also has a matching spork that snaps to the side and its durable insulated construction keeps hot foods hot for up to six hours and cold foods stay chilled up to eight hours.

Lunchskins Green Striped Quart Paper Bags

These cute quart-size bags are made from kraft paper so they’re free of plastics, bleach and waxy coatings. Sandwiches and/or snacks fit easily inside and they come with stickers that you can use to close the bags. You can even write your own message on each bag.

Stasher Reusable Silicone Food Bags

They’re reusable, resealable and come in a variety of sizes. They might seem a little pricey for a snack bag, but they’re dishwasher, freezer, and oven-safe, so they can be used for cooking and storage beyond packing lunches. Plus, they’re environmentally friendly alternative to using single-use plastic.

Reusable Ice Packs

They’re ultra-slime, fun and colorful. They freeze quickly and will keep food and beverages cold for up to 4 hours. Plus, they’re 100% safe and non-toxic.

Reusable Silicone Baking Cups Liners

This set comes in multiple shapes and colors. They work perfectly in bento boxes to help separate different foods. There also BPA, PVC free and eco-friendly.

Squeeze Portable Containers to Go

These are easy to clean, reusable and the perfect size to carry. They don’t leak and are easy to squeeze. The caps can be undone and the mouth is big enough for easy refilling. They’re ideal for holding all condiments: BBQ sauce, olive oil, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, maple syrup, salad dressing, etc.

Sandwich Cutters Set

These help make food so much more fun and appealing. You can cut your food into adorable shapes. This set has 4 sandwich cutters and 8 smaller cutters for fruits, vegetables and cheese.

Labels – Write-On, Self-Laminating, Waterproof Name Labels

I love these labels! I use them on all food containers and bottles. They’re dishwasher-safe, microwave-safe, freezer-safe, waterproof and BPA-free.

MINI Bento-Box Lunch and Snack Boxes Set

These mini size bentos are perfect for morning, afternoon or after school snacks. Their leakproof compartments keep food looking and tasting fresh. They’re durable, eco-friendly and BPA-free.

Gap Kids Lunch bag

These are my favorite lunch bags for Dean right now. They have a front zipped pocket.  Separate side pocket for a water bottle. An interior front pocket and “Property Of” name tag inside.

Round Stainless-Steel Food-Storage Containers

These come in 16oz, 9oz and 5oz. They’re perfect for packing pasta salad, cut fruit and veggies.

Rectangular Stainless-Steel Food-Storage Container

These are great to mix and match with the round stainless-steel containers when you’re not using a bento box. I love the fact that it has an adjustable/removable divider and they’re versatile enough for home food-storage as well.

Yeti Rambler

It’s a perfect 12 oz water bottle. It has double-wall vacuum insulation keeps beverages ice-cold. The straw Cap is leak resistant when closed and both the bottle and cap are dishwasher safe. Plus, it’s engineered with a super strong, stainless-steel armor that won’t flinch through bumps and drops on account of slippery hands.

Contigo 14oz Kids Water Bottle

This bottle has an easy push button straw pop-up and the spout that can easily be pushed down under a cover to protect the mouthpiece from the elements. The straw has a spill-proof valve and the lid easily disassembles for full-access cleaning. Plus, it’s made with FDA-approved, BPA-free materials that won’t give off plastic odors or tastes.
